What can businesses do to minimise disputes in the workplace?
We all know how big a job it is to hire new staff. It takes time and effort to train them and help them fit into the organisation. But that’s not all – business owners have further legal responsibilities on issues like pay rates, taxation and superannuation. That’s where the Fair Work Ombudsman can help, says Lynda McAlary-Smith the Executive Director of Proactive Compliance and Education. Its main agenda is to mediate disputes, she says, but it also has a comprehensive business support service at its Fairwork.gov.au website.
