Everyone wants to be considered "nice". Of course. But in a business setting, we shouldn't let that detract from the open and honest conversations that are sometimes necessary with staff. While some owners and managers avoid difficult conversations, it's not good business practice, says Richard Day. He advocates an open and honest approach with staff, which he describes as "fighting clean" in business. He advises us to stay respectful but never to leave anything unsaid at the table.
