Listen Now

Date: 01/11/2017

Business Essentials celebrates its 400th edition, more than 33 years and 3300 interviews after its first (on Betamax tape) in 1984.

The program's two veterans — economist Professor Neville Norman and executive producer Heather Dawson — join Nick Schildberger to reminisce and provide some background on the world’s longest running business audio magazine.

Also this month, we hear from regular speaker Neville Christie on his current project which he hopes will draw together great innovating minds to solve some of our biggest challenges. Fintech expert Matthew Gardiner, of Catch London, examines some of the leading technologies, including Blockchain, which are already disrupting the way we do business.

Graham Andrewartha returns with strong views on the way you plan for the future. Cheryl Disher of HR Advice Online explains the rules around personal leave. Lawyer Ryan Solomons warns about new legislation coming into effect in February next year concerning your responsibilities if your customers' personal data has been lost or stolen.

Tax expert, Michael Jones, has concerns about the government’s stated objective in relation to superannuation. Stock Doctor, Elio D’Amato tells us what we can do in this quiet investment period leading up to Christmas.

And we finish the program with strategies on dealing with work overload and eliminating stress, with business coach Muffy Churches.
