Federal Budget preview

Listen to a Preview

Running Time: 7:56

Date: 01/05/2014

Will the Government be brave when the Federal Budget for 2014 is handed down?

We'll know on 13th May if Joe Hockey and the Government have the gumption to make the tough decisions in this year's Federal Budget. Professor Neville Norman hopes his predictions that they won't, are wrong.

Neville believes it's unlikely the GST will be raised and that the growing deficit will be dealt with by expenditure slashing rather than revenue raising - both decisions that will make things more difficult in the future. Don't get excited about Government handouts and tax cuts either this year.
