Goal, strategy and execution. Three steps to a high performing business.

In the unregulated space of ‘business assistance’, it’s difficult to distinguish between a consultant, mentor, and coach. So what’s the difference? According to Brad Greenwood of Igniting Potential, consultants will tell you the answers to your problems; mentors will guide you by sharing their experience; but coaches, however, will ask the questions that will help you see for yourself the way forward and how to get to there.

Brad says the role of an executive coach centres around four key areas – strategy, sales, leadership and change.  He says the first step in an executive coaching engagement involves focusing on the end goal, followed by establishing the strategy which will take the client from where they are to where they want to be, and thirdly, producing an execution plan. Brad says leaders who follow the ‘goal, strategy and execution’ framework have a deep self-awareness and insight about themselves, their business, and their clients - which are key compoments of a high performing business.
