Don't ignore the "boring old banks" - they may be the best place for your investment funds over the next two to three years

If you're trying to decide where to invest, says leading economist Saul Eslake, now of the Grattan Institute, don't write off the big banks. They're offering up to 6 and a half percent for 3-year term deposits, and it's hard to see either shares or property beating that sort of return in the current climate.
