There's little in the way of high drama on the sharemarket right now if we listen to regular commentator Elio D'Amato. But that's what we can always expect, he says, between reporting seasons. In the meantime, Elio highlights several sectors which are performing well, or not, in the current climate. There are discretionary retailers, not so happy despite the slight rise in consumer confidence, there are the banks, and for more positive signs we should take heart at the number of takeovers currently underway.
